We are continuing our Attitude of Gratitude. As part of this program each quarter we choose one employee and their local ‘Community Cause’ to support. Last quarter, Rhiana Macaya Mitchell chose the Hailey chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
The Nature Conservancy’s mission is to conserve the land and waters on which all life depends. Their vision is a world where the diversity of life thrives, and people act to conserve nature for its own sake and its ability to fulfill our needs and enrich our lives. To do our part, WRI volunteers participated in the Silver Creek Preserve Clean-Up Parties on May 11th and the 19th. We helped with trail maintenance and Visitor Center clean-up.
Rhiana shared, “Considering this phenomenally beautiful region we call home is surrounded by nature, I thought it was fitting to call attention to a non-profit that makes protection of land and water its primary mission.
Although The Nature Conservancy is a rather large charitable environmental organization operational around the world, what each chapter does in its respected locale has a strong impact and leaves a lasting legacy.
Helping to get the Silver Creek Preserve ready for another season was fun, informational and another wonderful way to find out what The Nature Conservancy does for nature’s gifts and for all of Idaho!
