On June 2nd, WRI owners and agents had fun throwing color on the participants of the Color Me Fearless 5k run, supporting our local Girls on the Run program. Our tent was set up at mile marker 2 and runners were greeted with clouds of red, orange and pink as they ran by.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through their research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games.

Girls face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be. Studies show that by adolescence, girls’ confidence drops about twice as much as boys’. Girls on the Run teaches: Confidence, Character, Care, Connections, Competence and Contribution.
