WRI agents present Danielle Andrews from The Advocates with the box of personal care and essentials items we collected during our September Essentials Drive.
WRI had a hugely successful Essentials Drive last quarter for The Advocates of Domestic Violence. With the help of our clients and friends, we gathered personal care items and essentials. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate a giant box of supplies that the Advocates can use at their shelter.
Green Dot is a bystander empowerment program that teaches people how to notice when someone is in trouble and how to safely and effectively intervene to help. It is about taking responsibility and committing to do our part in building a healthy, compassionate and safe community.
By gathering essential personal care items and donating them to our community members in shelter, we are doing our part. We are speaking out and using our voice and actions to make our part of the world a better place. No one has to do everything, but everyone has to do something.
Andrea Christensen selected The Advocates as her charitable organization, which WRI focused on supporting last quarter. Andrea says, "I chose the Advocates because of what the Advocates have assisted me with personally. The Advocates programs reach far beyond education and shelter but provide supportive services for those who may be in need. I am happy to have had the opportunity to help such an important organization gather essential supplies for the shelter. It is my hope that the essentials that were donated by our community will assist the Advocates in responding faster, assisting those in rebuilding their lives healthier, while renewing hope along the way."
