Holiday Traditions, From our Family to Yours
The Johnson family shares their traditional holiday recipe, the Texas Jalapeno Cheeseball......YUM!
Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. chopped cilantro
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
Pinch of cayenne
1 tsp. lime juice
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 jalapeños, stems and seeds removed
6 pieces cooked bacon, crumbled
Salt to taste
1/4 cup chopped pecans, roasted
Crackers for serving
Directions:
Mix together the cream cheese (room temperature), cheddar cheese, cilantro, garlic, cumin, cayenne, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, half of the diced jalapeños and half of the crumbled cooked bacon.
With your hands, roll the cheese mixture into a ball. Then roll in the remaining jalapeños, bacon and pecans until covered. Serve on a platter with crackers. You’ll be sure to impress your guests with this spicy new holiday dish!
