At Wood River Insurance, we believe strongly in supporting our community. And dedicated organizations like The Hunger Coalition help make the Wood River Valley a better place for all of us. We’re particularly proud that we have been recognized with the Safeco Insurance Make More Happen Award.

Food banks provide a vital service for the hungry in our community — the hungry people, that is. The pets of families in need are often forgotten. So when our staff at Wood River Insurance asked the animal shelter how we could help, an idea was born: a pet-food drive to support The Hunger Coalition and The Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley’s “Paws for Hunger” program.The drive resulted in 80 bags of pet food collected by WRI! In addition to helping pets, The Hunger Coalition offers food support for humans, including weekend and summertime meals for kids and an infant-formula program.

Thanks to everyone who voted in the Safeco contest! Because of the support from our community and all of your votes, The Hunger Coalition received a $3,500 donation on behalf of Wood River Insurance.
